iTunes, the most popular media player in the world for both Mac and PC is anxiously looking for its long-awaited upgrade. Featuring new library views, a new MiniPlayer, expanded view options by getting rid of the Playlist sidebar, iTunes 11 sounds like a total once-over of the current version, iTunes 10. But the only issue to Mac and PC users around the world….when will it be released? Current speculations by Cult Of Mac predicted iTunes to be released on Wednesday or Friday of this week. This was based on statistical averages of past iTunes releases and the assumption that Apple would try and get iTunes out before Thanksgiving. But Apple is, well, Apple. Seems like they’re in business sometimes just to make sure everyone is confused enough about new product releases just enough they don’t die from suspense before Apple releases said product.
As to the release date of iTunes 11, now, it’s up for grabs. With all of Apple’s executives taking Thanksgiving week off, the chance of iTunes making its debut this week is very limited. We’ll probably see an early release the week after Thanksgiving.
Speaking of which, Happy Thanksgiving!
